Confession Time: I am 32 years old and I don’t have my shit together.
I could list out ALL of the ways that my life is crappy right now: broke, hairy legs, single with a horrible, but often hilarious, dating life, unemployed, kinda unhappy, sorta friendless in Nashville, haven’t seen my family in over a year, not in the best shape, unless you consider round your favorite shape, etc, etc, etc.
I don’t want it to be this way though. Some of the above things are temporary, some require a lot more work.
That is all about to change. I am embarking on a journey that is going to change my life, and with any luck, help you along the way.
Why am I starting this series?
Short answer: Because I really need to get my shit together. And I know there are others out there as well who need the help and are going through the same thing.
Long answer: Because I need the accountability and sharing my life with you and you expecting me to succeed helps keep me accountable. When I first started to blog at DavisFinn.com I struggled to know exactly what I wanted to do so I dabbled here and there with DIY, and style, and decor, but it just didn’t feel right. I actually wanted to write about something that I cared about and would actually help someone else. There are plenty of “lifestyle” blogs out there that are going to teach you how to build your own DIY planter or showing off their summer bathing suit haul. While I love those as much as the next person, it isn’t truly authentic to who I am.
I love fashion, and some of that will be included on the blog, especially as it pertains to getting your life together. I love DIY, but the DIY featured are going to be life hacks that will help you…you guessed it, get your shit together. I will definitely be talking about career and general life advice as well. I am bound to learn a thing or two along the way and I want to be able to share that with you.
More to come…
A year ago, I had this idea of creating a life planner that would take you through a year of getting your shit together and coming out the other side more responsible, or at least somewhat more responsible. I wanted it to be real, funny, and raw. But most importantly I wanted it to help someone and to help me, because I desperately need it. I am finally starting this project and will be giving you sneak peeks along the way.
Moving forward, I am going to be talking more about my process of getting my shit together and giving practical tips on things I learn along the way. Look for blog posts, DIY, life hacks, videos, and so much more.
Expect some crude and dark humor. Expect some bad language. But most importantly, let’s expect to change our lives.
